The river, the Glen Canyon, and the Horseshoe Bend

May 8, 2016

After Sedona and the Grand Canyon, I was pretty certain that nothing else could impress me as much… But thankfully I was wrong. We spent our last adventure days in Page, a city of only 7000, mostly famous for its proximity to the Antelope Canyon. While here we started investigating how can we could get closer to the depth of the Canyon and explore the riverbank. It turned out that Page was the just the right place for this. We booked a one day rafting tour with the Colorado River Discovery and off we went to see what the river is all about.

After checking in at the welcome centre, we got on a cosy bus which took us through the walls of the canyon all the way to Glen Canyon Dam. Here is where we boarded our rafts and off we went down the Colorado river.

The river trip took us around the famous Horseshoe Bend, which looks very different when so close to it. In the evening we headed over to the view point for it to experience another beautiful sunset over the canyon.
